Why is Abortion a Religious Issue?
It's a biological question.
The question is: when does a child obtain human rights?
It seems as though a majority of theists believe that life, and therefore, human rights, begin at conception. And that the majority of non-theists believe that this point comes later, for example, when the child is able to achieve viability outside the womb.
Religion or lack, thereof, is obviously influencing our answers to this biological question.
Why is this?
